Anachronox Page 2
Of course, the full game will have full speech for all the characters and the dialogues in the in-engine cinematics will be lipsynched.
Very neat!
To end this little feature thing I can assure you that Anachronox will have an epic storyline with a rollercoaster of emotions and hundreds of amazing weapon effects.
Inside Anachronox, its Story
To warm you up a bit before its release, we decided it would be a neat thing if we could include Anachronox's storyline in this preview.
How it all started:
The first artifacts were found about three hundred years ago. Left by some long-dead alien race, strange mysterious devices were found all over the galaxy. Dubbed "MysTech" (short for Mysterium Technology), some of these ancient machines healed, some were weapons, some have never been fully
understood.
About two hundred years ago, some unlucky star pilot wandered upon a Sender. A planet-sized reflective sphere sat there in space, long spikes sticking out at regular intervals over its surface.
Honing in on a signal one spike seemed to be transmitting, the pilot was probably quite surprised to find himself rocketing toward the Sender, then suddenly in some sort of hyperspace tunnel, then in a different part of space. That is, had his ship been equipped with inertial dampeners, or been shielded for what would be later called Torzewski Radiation. The pulpy, glowing mass that arrived elsewhere in the galaxy was probably quite surprised indeed as what was left of its brain gurgled a bit and fired its last neuron. But soon, ships were using Senders to reach all parts of the galaxy, and after a number of horrible wars, the Senders became the hubs of lucrative trade and galactic civilization. At the center of the universe lay Sender One, and in a time bubble inside this titanic Sender floated the city of
Anachronox.
Theory has it that Anachronox was once home to millions of quarantined aliens who slowly died of some sort of horrible plague (it literally means "poison from a previous time"), leaving this city to fall to ruins, to be taken over by the refuse of the galaxy as the center of their nefarious dealings.
Sylvester "Sly" Boots sat in Rowdy's, a seedy bar on the seediest street in a section of Anachronox called the Bricks. After surviving an attack of a group of henchmen, a hairy old man admired Boots'
handiwork and asked for his help. Soon Sly was joined by his lackey robot, an old flame turned mercenary, his holographic secretary, and a renegade scientist on a journey across space, across thedimensions, and beyond.
Someone is causing the universe to folding in on itself, destroying all existence as we know it! And this group of people are the only ones that believe it is happening, and the only ones that can do something
about it….
Art Images
To end this spicy preview of Ion Storm's 3D RPG, Anachronox here are some more and new Art Images.
Conclusion?
I must truly admit that I'm really looking forward to play this science-fiction 3D-RPG from Ion Storm which has a strange name
though, Anachronox. It's more like a name for a snake. :)
Anyway, I do hope that this game hits the stores very soon because with all that negative publicity around Ion Storm I'm sure that these fellows really want to show the rest of the world what they're capable
of doing.
And from what I've seen and heard, Anachronox is definitely a winner, that's if they don't screw up in the last minute.
