Each game tests your real-time strategy skills and provides hours of exciting gameplay! Play alone, or, for each title up to eight players can battle it out on a local area network (LAN) or the dedicated Settlers Internet server.
Let's take a look at each of the 3 games:
The Settlers IV
Decide whether to lead the Romans, the Vikings or the Mayas and build up a robust colony with a thriving industry, combining skilful resources with the get-up-and-go of the Settlers characters! Ensure the settlement is as attractive as possible, and it could soon become a paradise - if it wasn't for the evil Morbus and his dark tribe....
Morbus is an instigator with decidedly darker ambitions than the Settlers. He has been banished to Earth by HIM - the highest God of all. But for Morbus this is the most torturous punishment of all - he can't stand the sight of anything green! As soon as he arrives on Earth, Morbus and his Dark Tribe begin their battle against earthly greenery and the Settler world.
The Settlers IV - The Trojans and the Elixir of Power
There's a bright new bundle of joy in the Settlers world! A new tribe has joined the Settlers microcosm and is about to change their bustling activity forever. Morbus, leader of the Dark Tribe, refuses to throw in the towel and is searching for a cure for his hatred of all things green and invincibility is his goal! But the Trojans have a thing or two up their sleeves...a new unit, the Backpack Catapult Carrier, will aid them in their battle against the Dark minions.
The Settlers IV Mission CD
Morbus has been defeated and turned into stone, but still some enclaves of the Dark Tribe are threatening your peaceful settlements. As chief of the Romans the fate of your people lies in your hands - rebuild your destroyed empire and stop the advance of the Dark Henchmen!
The Settlers IV Gold Edition is available from all good stockists of PC software, with an RRP of only £9.99 including VAT. Alternatively the product, along with hundreds of other Focus Multimedia titles, can be purchased direct from www.focusmm.co.uk .

More info on TOCA Racer Driver 3
 [Category :
] [Posted by Bjorn on Friday, May 27 2005 @ 13:38 CET]
Drawing on over eight years of racing game development expertise, TOCA Race Driver 3 is set to put you on the circuit for real when it launches this winter for PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC.
Utilising a new generation of the series' proprietary handling engine, a 'greater degree of simulation' is the target for TOCA Race Driver 3.
Combine the advanced engine with full car damage modelling and an enhanced human AI system, the whole package will deliver the most detailed and involving motorsport experience on current generation systems.
However, the degree to which TOCA Race Driver 3 is being tuned goes further. A significant level of additional depth and realism is brought to the fore with the inclusion of detailed race rules and regulations in the game's Pro Career mode.
You can choose to activate qualifying, race flags and pit stop refuelling and tyre strategies, all accurate to over 100 different motorsport championships featured. There's also optional practice sessions, car tuning, race lengths and, where championship rules allow, car part upgrades.
The new system will deliver 40 times the audio assets on every single vehicle over TOCA 2 to provide a phenomenal depth of sound and a level of clarity never before heard on a racing game.
Using an enhanced rendering engine, TOCA Race Driver 3 will also be more visually rich and graphically detailed. Normal mapping adds to the detail of the cars and environments, such as rumble strips, road surface, barriers, shut lines, filler caps and vents on the cars.
Multi-textured surfaces will bring spectacular effects to track objects and the circuits themselves and new postproduction effects, enhancing depth of field and motion blur, are also being integrated. Most importantly, the racing action will zip along at a super-smooth 60 frames-per-second, even with up to 21 cars in high-speed competition on screen at once!
For the racing expert, the game's Pro Career mode features seven different career paths, each specialising in an individual motorsport discipline including GT, Off Road, Touring Cars, Historic, Open Wheel, Rally and Oval.
Packed with fully licensed racing cars, each of them a true icon from the world of motorsport, TOCA Race Driver 3 is coming to PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC this winter. Get your engine started at the game's website at www.codemasters.com/tocaracedriver3

We just hung on the phone with David Maille, the main chief director of Gizmondo France, talking about the release of the European Gizmondo (slated for last 19 May) but he said that it has been "delayed" for another 6-8 weeks!
So European gamers that are looking out for the device will have to wait another 6-8 weeks. We didn't receive any reason for that delay but it could be that amount of units has not been reached for lauch.
David said that probably beginning of July, the European Gizmondo will be available.
PlayDevil.com will keep an eye on the Gizmondo and will report any further Giz news as soon as possible. There's a good chance that we'll visit Gizmondo soon for the European launch , somewhere in France.

MotoGP3 to launch in summer 2005 with groundbreaking multiplayer
 [Category :
] [Posted by Bjorn on Tuesday, May 24 2005 @ 23:10 CET]
Due to ship in Summer 2005, THQ's eagerly awaited MotoGP: Ultimate Racing Technology 3 is steering towards success thanks to a unique innovation that will revolutionise multiplayer gaming. Described as 'embedded gameplay', this powerful feature blurs the line between offline and online action, making it quicker and easier than ever for speed demons to challenge each other.
While other racing games offer players the stark choice between racing against either the Artificial Intelligence (AI) or human drivers over a multiplayer network, MotoGP: Ultimate Racing Technology 3 offers something uniquely different. When a player sets-up a race against the AI, the game will automatically check for a similar multiplayer race about to start. If such a race is detected - and the competing drivers are of a similar skill - the player is given the option to jump into the multiplayer race with just one click of a button. This innovative option encourages and promotes online play, even to those who normally shy away from it. As a result, MotoGP: Ultimate Racing Technology 3 is perfectly placed to become a phenomenal multiplayer hit bringing new players to on-line gaming.

PlayDevil.com reviews Star Wars: Republic Commando

Alright! Another new review has been posted online.
Now we take a closer look on LucasArts "Republic Commando" for the X-Box.
Here's a snip:
Believe it or not, this game is packed with full action! In the very first level, you must team up with your other mates, finding one by one, blasting through droids and other Star Wars enemies. After that it gets interesting. Most of the time you'll never let your finger go from the fire trigger since it will be glued on. That's a good thing for an action game which Republic Commando really is, but a bad thing since it's being sold as a "tactical squad based shooter set in the Star Wars universe".

Well from all the information that we now have gathered , we came up that the PlayStation 3 will see the light somewhere in Spring 2006.
Price is yet unknown but it could be somewhere the 400-500 euro since a magazine claimed that it would cost 450$. That's pricey.
Regarding Microsoft's upcoming XBox 360. It will be available this YEAR! Somewhere in November so ready for the massive Christmas XB360 releases. Price? It seems that Microsoft will put the price down and it will not cost the same as the XBox when it was launched. How much concrete is not yet certain.
Nintendo's Revolution system will be somehow available in 2006 as well and we hope in the first quarter. Still many details are not verified yet, even its price.
Stay tuned to PlayDevil.com for the latest on these systems.

SEGA's lineup of entertainment games to be featured at E3 includes, but is not limited to, titles listed below.
Condemned: Criminal OriginsTM (Xbox 360): Developed by award-winning Monolith Productions, Condemned: Criminal Origins allows players to experience an unnatural level of psychological tension as they use their instincts, forensic tools, melee combat, and firearms to track a serial killer and bring him to justice. Presented in a first-person view for maximum visceral effect, this atmospheric thriller is best played with the surround-sound up and the lights off.
Full AutoTM (Xbox 360): Combine fully-automatic, weapon-equipped vehicles with highly detailed and interactive urban environments and you have Full Auto, the most destructive racing action ever experienced in a video game. Players can choose from a wide selection of unique vehicle designs, arm them with any combination of deadly weapons, and maneuver out of tight spots with the unique 'unwreck' play mechanic.
Gunstar Super HeroesTM (Game Boy Advance): Gunstar HeroesTM, one of the most critically acclaimed 2D games of all time, is finally receiving a sequel, and it's being developed by Treasure, the legendary team responsible for the original. Now there's a quick and easy way to navigate between the sites of the different studios and projects, and so is very user-friendly.
Each of the websites will feature different sorts of content; varying from a look behind the scenes with quotes and development screenshots; interviews with the team members and of course webcams broadcasting images live from the development team. Other (interactive) aspects are planned in the near future for all games.
Peter Molyneux, CEO of Lionhead Studios said "While we're all working very hard to finish three games this year, we didn't want to neglect our fans so it is about time we launched new websites. These will allow us to interact with our community and fans, our community team will bring them new regular updates and make sure we offer them the best possible web presence we can!"
