"Heavy Rain", the latest exclusive title for PS3 is a beautiful & amazing game.

However, some people are reporting on the official PlayStation forums that they have trouble with playing it. Audio hick ups, crashes, black screens of death, etc etc.

Some assume that the developer Quantic Dream did a bad job in getting the game out with so many glitches.

We from PlayDevil also experienced the "black screen of death". After loading up a chapter (Ann Shepard), the game refuses to load anymore. Just a black screen. Nothing more at all. Even going back to the XMB (with the PS button) didn't work.

And whats more, everytime we try to load up the chapter (or continue from the main screen), the game crashed and freezed.

So basically, you coudln't play anymore (unless you start from scratch again). A lot of users were irritated, mad and even wanted their money back ... saying that the developer and Sony did a bad job in bringing out such an amazing game with bugs and glitches.

Since we experienced the same thing like all those other users, we form PlayDevil managed to get the game working again.

This workaround worked on our launch PS3 (60 gb), patch 1.01 installed and with latest firmware (we did delete the patch first, started the game and installed it again).

If you're stuck with loading the chapter "Ann Shepard" (not certain if this will work with other chapters too) here is what you'll have to do to get it working again:

- Go to Load and select your save slot to load it up again

- Instead of pressing "continue" go to 'Chapters'

- Load up "On The Loose" (3 chapters back)

- Select "save your progress" (you'll lose your other chapters but this is the only way)

- Normally you should see the loading screen again (normally with Madison) and start off with chapter "On The Loose".

- From there you can continue all the other chapters again, even "Ann Shepard" and others.

Hopefully this fix will help you get around the "freez problem" and hopefully this will work with other chapters too (go back 3 chapters).

The developer is aware of this problem and others (audio hick ups, glitches) and are working on a patch. No date has been given yet.

With this workaround we managed to play the game to the end without any problems. Just a few more audio hick ups & tearing.
