Lots of neat accessories for the Nintendo DS

As with every new hardware console, every manufacturer tries to develop handy and neat accessories for it. In terms of quality, not every hardware manufactuer delivers the same as you would expect.
With the release of the "Nintendo DS" here in Europe, around mid March, there wasn't really any accessories available for the European market.
Only after some time, all well known brands were developing tons of accessories for the NDS.
PlayDevil.com already tested a product from the well known brand 'Piranha Xtreme' (the wireless X-Box controller) and now it's time to test a bunch of new products from Piranha Xtreme but for the Nintendo DS.

Since these accessories are not really heavy weights in terms of reviewing we'll try to test them as good as we can. Don't expect millions of words for every product we review in this "Piranha Xtreme DS Line Up" but in the end, you'll certainly know wether 'it's good or not'. And that's the point behind every product review from PlayDevil.com.

1) DS Carry Case

When you just bought a new handheld console, the first thing you need to have is of course a decent case to protect your precious console from scratches. The first product from Piranha Xtreme is exactly, a 'DS Carry Case'.
The case we review here in our DS Line Up has been made from soft substance and it feels good. Your NDS will certainly be protected. The carry case also has a front compartment for any NDS accessories. More, it also features an extra front compartment for your own DS games!
You don't need any other game case now for your DS games so basically you'll be saving some money.

The Piranha Xtreme Carry Case also has a belt loop which will make it more confortable for you to wear it.
I was surprised with this 'DS Carry Case' since it adds a lot more then just a simple case. Accessories and an extra front compartment for DS games makes it a must-have for your Nintendo DS.

Suggested retail price: 7.99 euro

2) DS Power Adapter (220v)

Piranha Xtreme has also developed a 'DS Power Adapter' which runs at 220v.
Nothing different than the original adapter from Nintendo and I guess you'll only buy this if your original is broken or if you lost it somewhere.
Basically it rechargers the internal rechargeable battery and powers the NDS. Input of the adapter can be between 110-230 Volt (50/60Hz).
One of the advantages is that this adapter also works with a GBA SP. So you can use it for both systems. The Piranha Xtreme DS Power Adapter includes a DC Connector Plug to connect to the Nintendo DS (5.2V IN) port.

Suggested retail price: 9.99 euro

3) DS Screen Protector Kit

When playing on handhelds, there's one thing that gamers are always afraid off. Yes, getting scratches on your beloved console or fingerprints, dust!
There are a dozen of screen protectors out there for almost every handheld console but don't be fooled with the quality. Some manufacturers only offers blur filters which will darken your (touch)screen so much that the colors will fade.
The 'DS Screen Protector Kit' from Piranha Xtreme will keep your colors vivid and won't distort your (touch)screen at all. The touch screen may be a little bit filtered but when you want to avoid a lot of scratches, that's the price you gotto pay.
The kit offers 2x screen protectors, one for the top and one for the touch screen. It also includes a microfibre cleaning cloth with will clean your filtered screens in no time. A soft card is present in the kit as well which makes it easier for removing the filters.
A pretty decent product and basically a must have if you ahum 'scratch' a lot!

Suggested retail price: 4.99 euro
