fine, as long as your tv accepts 1080p, then its probably worth it.

1080p displays every pixel at once, 1080i displays to 720 images but so quickly it looks like 1 1080 picture. overall i think most people agree there is a decent enough upgrade.

I think you would. I couldn't find many/any new articles, most were from 2005/6 when all this tech was still being prototyped.

Having seen the difference between 720 and 1080 myself, i think you will notice the difference!
