Drummin’?
"Rock Band" and "Rock Band 2" (and indeed "Guitar Hero World Tour") are some of the best games of the last twelve months, providing hours of entertainment whether you’re playing alone or with your band.
However, both games feature somewhat lacklustre drums. The Guitar Hero ones have notorious build quality, whilst the rock band ones feature no cymbals, feel cheap and plasticky, and make a nasty clacking sound.
Ion therefore hopes to have the solution for all those who want a more professional drum kit. In fact, swap the brain for a PC one, and it is a professional USB drumkit that works as well as any other on the market. However, the downside, as often with premium products, is the price. At over 200 pounds or euros, this is a serious investment for anyone!
When the set arrives, you’ll also notice that it may take a while before you start playing. Thanks to the set’s incredible customisation about where you place stuff (which is welcome) it takes an absolute age to set up. After two hours of sweating and cursing, I still feel my set looks somewhat wonky (I am, however, an absolute moron at DIY it must be said). It is also a huge amount bigger than the original sets, something that you may want to bear in mind.
