Playdevil has compiled a "Top 10" of the MOST disappointing games of this generation- there may be some shocks and surprises ahead, so read on!

Top 10 disappointing games this generation:

PlayDevil.com has worked hard to compile our top 10 disappointments- most of these games have come from top developers- so what games have been the most upsetting to us over the last 5 years?

10. Lair (PS3) Factor 5 made my favourite N64 and Gamecube series – Rogue Squadron. Sony decided to force them to use the shitty sixaxis controls for their launch title. Unsurprisingly, given that the whole thing was a joke anyway that Sony added at the last minute, the title was a disaster, and the studio went bust- thanks Sony! The patch that allowed you to control the game properly actually made it a decent game- but it was too little, far too late.

9. Bionic Commando (360/ PS3) In fact, I could place any GRIN title here- they all looked great, and promised lots, but never delivered in the gameplay department. Bionic Commando was the worst of the lot though, with terrible checkpointing and linear gameplay that was dull, dull, dull- Capcom have since vowed not to use Western developers again.

8. Haze (PS3) The Free Radical team- responsible for Goldeneye, and Timesplitters, produced, after a protracted development period, a really very average shooter with no personality and really quite appallingly poor multiplayer. Oops. Again, the studio went bust shortly after.

7. Final Fantasy XIII (PS3/ 360) Again, a massive development period. 3 discs of utter nonsense when it boils down to the plot, and 20 hours of tutorials made the game one of the worst JRPGs of the generation so far, and certainly the biggest disappointment.

6. Kane & Lynch (PS3/ 360) Freedom Fighters was one of my favourite games of the previous generation. Io decided to strip out all the good parts and add in some swearing and buggy multiplayer- yay for them!

Sorry ladies and gents after reading my post I forgot to clarify that I completed Bio1 on all platforms, I am still struggling with Bio2.

i only just picked up bioshock 2 as i wasn't the reviewer- i liked the single player, but was amazed at how short it was- 5-6 hours, versus 20 for the original, whilst the multiplayer was fairly average... it's a shame- i thought it was good, just, as you say, not worth full price. I was tempted to add it to the list though!

Yep, true Bioshock 2 missed it a bit. Since it wasn't all that new anymore, we have seen it all before. A shame because Bioshock 2 could have been a great game if they added more new stuff. Perhaps Bioshock 3 will be "all new".

I agree with you on Gears2, but only because the multi-player was rubbish. The first games MP although an afterthought was still exciting and compelling. CliffyB decided after a few online matches that we weren't playing how he wanted us to play, so he balanced all the fun out of MP. The one that didn't make your list that was at the top of mine, Bioshock 2. I have completed it it multiple times on every platform of it's release platinum on PS3 and every achievement on the 360. I played through to completion again only days before the launch and bought the collectors addition to show my support and was I disappointed. It should have been an expansion at the most. It made me long for Ken Levine and his great eye for trimming the fat and getting to what worked and not more that doesn't.
