Graphics - Sound:
Graphically, the game looks pretty good. There’s a nice cartoony, 2.5D art style that suits the game pretty well. The single player character art design, and the mascots are a little more generic, however. There’s a decent amount of variety to the puzzles and backgrounds. Don’t expect a AAA title, but the artwork is high quality, and to be honest, you can’t really expect all that much more than that.
Sound, however, is really annoying. The professor’s voiceover repeats very frequently, and it’s not exactly top quality either. The music is really generic and forgettable- a pretty typical, XBLA release- unfortunate as that is.
Multiplayer:
Online multiplayer is dead- so don’t bother buying this game for that- however, offline is fine. Four players, aiming to get the right answer first, is actually pretty fun- and the fact you can use the scene-it controllers is also pretty cool. It’s by no means the next MW2, but it’s fine for a 10 minute diversion with some mates.
Conclusion:
If more people had bought "Encleverment Experiment", I would have given it a better score. However, judging by the leaderboards, you will never, ever play online. There’s a decent game to be had if you can get past the annoying sound, but there’s not a huge amount to justify the package you can’t get elsewhere- and to be honest, I feel like most people would rather do this thing on the move.
It’s probably better than any equivalent on the 360, but there’s not much competition. Only for those desperate for yet more brain training need apply.
Pros:
+ Lots of puzzles
+ Random generation + 4 player local games Cons:
- No-one online
- Random AI - Annoying sound
